Sensitivity and Approximation of M/G/c Queue: Numerical Experiments∗
نویسندگان
چکیده
The sensitivity of the performance measures such as the mean and the standard deviation of the queue length and the blocking probability with respect to the moments of the service time are numerically investigated. The steady state distribution of M/G/c queue is approximated by that of the M/PH/c queue where the phase type (PH) distribution is fitted by matching the first three moments of the service times. Approximations are compared with the simulations.

Maximum Entropy Analysis for G/G/1 Queuing System (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This paper provides steady state queue-size distribution for a G/G/1 queue by using principle of maximum entropy. For this purpose we have used average queue length and normalizing condition as constraints to derive queue-size distribution. Our results give good approximation as demonstrated by taking a numerical illustration. In particular case when square coefficient of variation of inter-arr...
متن کاملDiffusion Process for Multi - Repairmen Machining System with Spares Aand Balking
In this paper we describe G/G/R+s multi- repairmen machining system with balking. The system consists of M operating machines, S spare machines, R permanent and s additional repairmen. Assuming the discrete flow of machines by continuous one, the diffusion approximation technique for the machine repair system has developed. The system will be in normal working mode if there is M operating machi...
متن کاملM M m K Queue With Additional Servers and Discouragement (RESEARCH NOTE)
Waiting in long queue is undesirable due to which in some practical situations customers become impatient and leave the system. In such cases providing additional servers can reduce long queue. This investigation deals with multi-server queueing system with additional servers and discouragement. The customers arrive in poisson fashion and are served exponentially by a pool of permanent and addi...
متن کاملN-Policy for M/G/1 Machine Repair Model with Mixed Standby Components, Degraded Failure and Bernoulli Feedback
In this paper, we study N-policy for a finite population Bernoulli feedback queueing model for machine repair problem with degraded failure. The running times of the machines between breakdowns have an exponential distribution. The repair times of the machines are independent and identically distributed random variables. If at any time a machine fails, it is sent to the repairman for repairing,...
متن کاملG G r Machine Repair Problem with Spares and Additional Repairman (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The machine repair problem with spares and additional repairman is analyzed. The interfailure and repair times of the units are general identical and independently distributed. The failure and repair rates are assumed to be state dependent. Using diffusion approximation technique, we obtain the queue size distribution under steady state. The average number of failed units, average number of ope...
